Gold has always been more than just an investment for Indian households. It is a store of value, a cultural asset, and often investors’ first step into the world of investing. But the way Indians buy gold is changing. Instead of walking into a jewellery store, many investors now prefer digital platforms that allow them to buy, hold, and even take physical delivery of gold with a few taps.
In 2026, several platforms offer gold delivery options, each with a different structure.

Gold investment app
Choosing a trusted online gold investment app requires looking beyond convenience and comparing factors such as gold purity, storage, delivery and the underlying product structure.
Dhan Gold Vault
Gold Vault by Dhan allows investors to buy gold & silver at live MCX rates and take physical delivery at their doorsteps after settlement. The Gold Vault is not like any other digital gold platform; it operates within SEBI capital market infrastructure.
All transactions are processed via MCX, settled by MCXCCL (MCX Clearing Corporation Limited), and holdings are held in exchange-regulated vaults in ComRIS accounts. The lowest available gold denomination is 1 gram.
PhonePe Gold
PhonePe launched its gold category in December 2017 in partnership with SafeGold and MMTC-PAMP. Users can buy 24K gold at live prices from ₹10 and request physical delivery of coins from 0.5 gram onwards, at their doorsteps.
Gold purchased on PhonePe is stored in Brink’s vaults, which is the same global security firm used by central banks. The gold purity ranges from 99.5% (SafeGold) to 99.99% (MMTC-PAMP), depending on the provider selected at the time of purchase.
Google Pay Gold
Google Pay also allows its users to buy gold digitally via a special partnership with MMTC-PAMP India. The gold is 99.99% pure and is kept in the vaults of MMTC-PAMP and is insured under a Gold Accumulation Plan (GAP).
On Google Pay, investors can start investing in gold from a minimum investment of ₹1. Gold holdings can be redeemed as physical coins or bars, subject to making and delivery charges. The minimum weight threshold for physical delivery is 1gm.
Paytm Gold
Paytm Gold can be accessed from the Paytm Payments app. Paytm offers the opportunity to invest in 24k gold, and it has partnered with MMTC-PAMP, India’s only LBMA-accredited refinery for gold custody. The minimum amount of gold that can be invested on Paytm is ₹1.
Paytm had temporarily suspended physical gold redemptions in August 2025, but it has now resumed physical gold deliveries in April 2026, with an expanded logistics network covering over 12,000 PIN codes. Paytm users can also take physical delivery of their gold in the form of gold coins.
Jar
Jar provides an automated savings mechanism for gold investments. It provides savings in various modes like daily, instant, monthly, etc.
Gold on Jar is 24K, 99.9% pure and is held in Brink’s vaults and managed by Vistra. Physical delivery is available on request in the form of coins or bars. The minimum amount is ₹10, and the only charge is the regular 3% GST on purchases.
Conclusion
Physical delivery of gold is available on all five platforms, but the structures differ. Here, the only gold investment option that works under the capital markets and MCX exchange framework is Dhan Gold Vault. Digital gold investments available on other platforms are offered through private vault operators like SafeGold and MMTC-PAMP and are not regulated by SEBI or RBI.
Before choosing the best app for SIP investment in digital gold, investors should check the delivery PIN code coverage, purity, redemption charges, storage terms and the regulatory framework of these platforms.
